Evil, but cute & gay about it
...ramblings of the imperfectly innocent
Just an observation

Things that Portland seems to have more of than Seattle:
  • Food trucks
  • Light Rail
  • TRON-styled video game arcades
  • flatness
  • aggressive people on the street
  • Bachelorette parties
  • Self-righteous Young Republicans
  • Very loud police cars
There doesn't seem to be a clear winner here.

Also, I am enjoying a fresh, delicious hot waffle with apples, caramel, and whipped cream, and I thought you should know that.

* Strippers (I only know the girl-stripper situation so not useful to you)
* Houses for cheap

Unfortunately not so much on the:
* Jobs

I'm told that the boy stripper situation is also very good. I've been curious to see for myself, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy it. That one in Phoenix was kinda fun, but that may have been the fact that a bunch of people took me, and it was a new experience. IDK.

Are houses there cheap? I know property taxes are crazy high. Maybe needs some investigation.

Yeah, unemployment is bad, but I hear that things are starting to look up in the greater Portland area.

If one is moving to the suburbs or renting a run down house in a nice neighborhood, housing is cheap.

Also, I'm able to afford a one bedroom in modern construction downtown with my own washer and dryer here. In Seattle I had to have a housemate and split a 2 br/1 bath.

Hm. I did some peeking on Redfin, and wasn't blown away by prices downtown. Things which would be listed for around $450k in Seattle were around $375k in Portland, and property taxes were about 30% higher there. Rentals in the Pearl District seem to only be about 10-15% lower than here also. I'm not blown away by the difference. *shrug* Maybe things are different outside the core.

Flavor Spot again?

No, actually. They were closed at the time, this was a competing waffle place, except not really. More details later.

Ha! I did not know that, but Stan and I weren't very close. I did meet him and Ali once a few years ago, but have not been in touch.
