I'm back safely in Seattle. No major problems, just some minor flight delays. Had a great time. Woo!

Welcome home.

The former (and now back?) science editor for CI is going to be at 3rd Place Books in Lake Forrest Park on Wednesday at 7pm. Are you interested in going? He's flogging a healthy eating book from CI but I expect interesting things as well.

Ooo, that sounds like a great idea. Timing will be... tricky, but might be doable. I'll confirm tomorrow, but at this point plan on me joining you.

http://thirdplacebooks.com/event/americas-test-kitchen-healthy-family-cookbook-john-willoughy has some information. They also have a RSVP thing that makes sure you have a seat. I can send it to you but I suspect it adds you to CI's mailing list. Let me know if you want me to send it.

Glad to hear you made it home okay! And thanks for coming to visit; it was an excellent weekend.

My last story of the weekend: So on the streetcar and subway home from seeing you off, I was knitting. And while on the subway, I heard two people commenting about it, looked up, and they sat down next to me -- a mom and her (university-age -- 21, if I had to guess) son. And she starts talking with me about how she's just learning to knit, and we discuss techniques, I show her a neat trick I know that makes knitting on the subway easier, etc. And then when she's done, the son starts flirting with me. "Oh, you're doing such a good job there!" "The colour really matches your glasses well!" "It's going to look so nice on you when it's done!"

It might have been annoying, were it not so incompetent that it flipped the bit over to endearing. Thankfully my stop got there pretty much right after, so I basically 'kthxbye'd and got off the train. :3
