yay, kermit

Why yes, I will be on the inaugural run of Link light rail!

Sadly, it was strictly one ticket per person, so I cannot invite anyone else.

Ha!!! I just left you a comment in my own journal and then flipped over and saw this!! Don't be sad. You do not need to ride friendless! As I admitted in my journal, I know you were here at my house and we met and I do not remember what you look like. Wonder if we were getting our passes at the same time???

See you Saturday morning!!!

Heh, I was only sad because I know several people who probably would love to be on the train too. It's great that you'll be there, tho! I will be on the shuttle bus if I don't sleep through my alarm (who thought 7am was a reasonable hour?).

I actually was not ever at your house. I desperately wanted to go to the party with Steven, but I was on my way to the airport (flying to SF), and could not find anywhere to park because it turned out to be a game day. So the reason you can't remember what I look like is because we've never actually met. :-)

We probably just missed each other getting the passes. I was at Union Station early this morning (maybe 8:20); I was not going to risk not getting a ticket! There were about 20 or 30 people who trickled in over the next hour, and they actually started handing tickets out at 9:45, so I was on a bus to work by 10.

Oh thank you! I have been madly, all morning, trying to get your face out of my party memories. Whew. I feel better already.

I wondered about the peops on the sign up sheet in front of me. I walked in at 10:02 and there were 4 people in front of me but about 60 people on the sign up sheet.

It is early - I'm wondering how many people who got vouchers today will actually show.

I'm delighted to have a rail friend!

I'm hoping! I'm also hoping I'll be awake enough to enjoy it. ;-)

I would love to answer any digital camera questions that I can. Hope you have fun with your new toy!

It figures they'd do that downtown with only 200 tickets. No way I'd have gotten there to get one. :(

Ah well, I have a Upass so I can ride free whenever I actually get a chance to ride. I'm doubtful this weekend will be the time for me.

I'm looking forward to your pictures of the event.

Yeah, like I said above, I made sure to get there really early. I'm very privileged to have the flexible working hours that I do.

I will be sure to post whatever pictures I take! Actually, I have another LJ post to make about that very topic...

Hee hee, congratulations. How did you get that?

Just got up really early, and headed down to Union Station. They announced the giveaway on Twitter. It was really awesome, actually. People kept dribbling in, each doing the same dance of walking to the end of the station and back, and then talking to the Sound Transit receptionists, and then sitting down. This one boy there with his Mom had a Mount Baker station t-shirt on. Rail geek pride, baby!

I was thinking about doing that but figured by the time I found out tickets would be gone. And I was right! Have fun though!

(It's Alice btw. Hi!)

Yeah, I've been obsessively following both Seattle Transit Blog and the ST Twitter feeds, so I'd been expecting somethin since the weekend. When they posted the details yesterday, I knew I had to jump on it.

I will have fun! And I assume you'll still be there for the general opening at 10, yes?
15th-Jul-2009 01:21 am (UTC) - Congrats!
You'll have to come down to Phoenix again to ride ours. My new place is a 5 minute walk to a stop and I'll be a daily rider to ASU's Tempe campus.

I would love to visit Phoenix again! I've been thinking back to that trip quite a lot lately, actually. It was such a great time! I would love to see you again, too. Of course, you could always visit Seattle. :)

But, hey, how *are* you? Haven't been any updates from your way in quite a while...
15th-Jul-2009 09:12 am (UTC) - Re: Congrats!
I'm good, thank you for asking. Busy with moving, my research, school, blah blah blah. Nothing terribly crazy, but life is good and I'm happy!
