Boots

I've decided that I need some new boots in my life. I'm looking for boots for everyday (so, something durable), something easy to take on and off (so, no laces), and something that will look and feel good. Also something that won't cost a fortune (not more than, say, $200, would be nice, but $500 is right out). I know there are many of you on my flist with a special appreciation for them, and so I ask your advice:

1) Is there a specific style or brand(s) that I should be looking for? Current suggestions are motorcycle boots or low-rise harness boots.

2) Any good brick-and-mortar places that will stock large sizes (15)? Seattle or otherwise?

I really think tactical boots (which do have laces) might fit the bill. Although they have that "hi-top sneakers taking themselves too seriously" look that may not be desirable.

Hmmm. Maybe. Something like this is actually pretty hot. I also see they have tactical boots with zippers, which might work.

It's not a brick-and-mortar place, but I found that buying shoes on Zappos wholly awesome. They always expressed my shoes to me and took a return easily when I once bought a pair that ran too big.

Just a thought.

That's a good suggestion. I've heard they have a very good return policy; fit is a huge concern. I'll look into it. Thanks!
