Yes, it's prix fixe time in Seattle again (it's only 4 months of the year), and I've looked at the list of restaurants and chosen my top 10. If you're on my friends list, and would like to join me at any of these, just send me email; Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays typically work best for me. The list:
  1. Eva
  2. Ponti
  3. Dahlia Lounge
  4. Earth & Ocean
  5. Ray's Boathouse
  6. Art
  7. Etta's
  8. Crémant
  9. Steelhead Diner
  10. Nell's

Prix Fixe time ? wossat about? (I get prix fixe, just didn't know there was a 'time')...

Every year, Seattle and its environs have 4 months of organized prix fixe dinners, every other month from November to May.

For many years, Seattle had "25 for $25" during the months of November and March, which was 25 restaurants that would serve up a 3-course meal for $25 on Sun-Thu. There's some tie in with the local papers, but I never properly understood that. A few years back (mebbe 2), "New Urban Eats" popped up on the scene as sort of a competitor or something. It focuses on new restaurants (I think 2 or fewer years old), takes place during January and May, and was priced at $30 per meal. "25 for $25" took the opportunity to bump up its price and rename itself "Dine Around Seattle" (aka "30 for $30"), so it's less of a screaming deal than it once was, but it's still a great excuse to try new places and hit up old favorites for less than you could otherwise.
