Lunch and maps

bah, dogbert
The Noonhat lunch did not happen today; one of the guys was sick, so we're doing it tomorrow.

Also, in cleaning out my links, I came across this list of interesting islands and lakes. Highly recommended for all you map people.

That Baffin Island map is out of date -- in 1998 Baffin was part of the Northwest Territories, but on April 1, 1999 a new territory Nunavut was defined encompassing Baffin and most of the other northern islands, and a large eastern chuck of the mainland NW Territores.

9th-Jul-2007 04:40 pm (UTC) - I gotta know... how was your Noonhat lunch?
So, I've been refreshing your blog for days, waiting to hear about your Noonhat lunch. :) How did it go? Did it live up to your ideals?

Take care,

Ha! Well, for the full post, you'll have to wait a few days. I've promised a friend I'll post about her trip first. The summary is that lunch was okay. I was pleasantly surprised there were 3 people, but the search for common ground didn't yield much. A conversation on tech topics kinda defeated the purpose, I felt, so we kept mostly to photography (one of the guys was semi-pro, and the other was an enthusiast like me). Not as off-the-beaten-path as I'd have liked, but there's always next time. Like I said, full details before the week is out. Thanks for the site!

You're more than welcome. If you can think of things that the site could do to improve the experience, I'd love to hear it. I'll be looking forward to the full post.

Take care,
