Hither and Yon

Two big trips are on my horizon. First, the annual trip to Madison, WI for onetruewilliam's Ides of March party. I'll be gone from Mar 17-22. A visit to my sister in Chicago is also on the menu, and if unzeugmatic and/or cpj are available and interested, a trip to Minneapolis could also happen (jss1113 says he'll be at Ides, so I'll see him then). I'd hoped for this to be a week-long excursion, but my work project is due the end of March, so a 5 day absence in the middle is contraindicated.

After that is a big trip to the southwest. My new friend, the adorable K, lives in Phoenix, AZ, and has expressed interest in joining me. I had planned for a week in mid-May, but ted_badger will be out there in late April, and I have extra vacation days (since I'm cutting my Madison trip short), so my current thought is Apr 28-May 7. Lots of details have to be worked out (uh, including confirmation that those dates work for both of those guys :-), but that's the gist of it. I won't be able to see everything I want, but the points of interest include the Grand Canyon (north rim only; the glass walkway I so badly wanted to visit won't be done by then, dammit), Moab, Bryce Canon, Arches, Zion, Arcosanti, Sedona, and whatever else we have time for. This won't be a rushed trip, though; the idea will be to relax and enjoy the scenery and company. Low-stress is key. Whatever works out will work out. It will be cool.
