Totally random

I randomly decided to hit the ZigZag tonight to attempt socialization. Had a glass of the Plantation that I sampled last time I was there; it was pretty good, and still with a very strong note of... something familiar, but I don't know what. My brain keeps telling me "cherry", but I don't know if that's it. It's still quite good. Next up was Porfido, I think. It was an unaged white rum, more like agricole. Unusual, but slightly off tasting; the word "kerosene" keeps coming up, but not in a bad way. It was very cool to be able to suddenly see exactly what aging in wooden barrels does.

Anyway, the point of this post is to remark upon the fact that one of the hot guy trio sitting next to me was wearing a Hubbard Avenue Diner t-shirt! How cool is that? For those who don't know, that diner is one of the few in Madison, WI, and is one of the places that I absolutely obsess over. They have the world's best scones, but, as the shirt says, they're "famous for pie"! I did use this as a conversation gambit, but it didn't go much of anywhere. Damn straight boys. It seems he's a native Madisonian (Madisonite?), and worked at the diner briefly, which is why he had the shirt. Anyway, it was a cool random event.

Bed now.
