Going to Banya 5 last week was wonderful, but we didn't get to spend as much time there as we would have liked (we had about 2 hours, which is really a minimum; 4 would be better). I must get back there soon.
Work drama was finally resolved. Short summary:
- Me: While I was working on this module, I found some ugly stuff. I want to improve it by doing A, B, C, and D.
- Head Architect: Sure! While you're there, do X, Y, and Z too.
- Me: OK, but what about A, B, C, and D?
- HA: Those are fine.
- 2 weeks of me doing difficult design
- HA: OK so far, but don't do A or B.
- 1 week of me doing more difficult design work
- HA: Uh, don't do C or D, either.
Besides that, work continues apace; nothing major to report since the drama finally ended.
I am fed up with what I call "meatspace maintenance" tasks. My to-do list is full of "go food shopping, find clothing that fits, pick up prescriptions, go see 4 different doctors, go to the post office, do laundry, clean apartment, &c." ad nauseam. The vast majority of these things cannot be handed off to other people, no matter how much I could pay. This of course includes non-meatspace things like "email LOTS of people I've been ignoring, make phone calls, organize bi-monthly to-do lists"....
I did get to see unzeugmatic on his recent visit, as well as catch up with bconn and got to significantly talk to ctseawa for the first time. Hopefully we'll be doing more friendly activities in the future.
Very little recreation has been happening on the weekends; the weather is *great* all week, then sucks on Saturdays. Awesome. Did do one long top-down drive in spite of chill and clouds, which was nice.
Things with Morris also continue apace: the good things remain very good (the sex, the friendship) and the bad things continue to get worse (hardly see each other, don't go out much, his apnea and ADD).
